Policy - Maintenance Rules
Purpose
These maintenance rules ensure a structured and efficient work environment by promoting punctuality, productivity, cleanliness, safety, and accountability among maintenance staff. These guidelines aim to maintain a high standard of work ethics, safeguard facility resources, and enhance the overall operational effectiveness of the maintenance team.
Scope
These rules apply to all maintenance staff, including but not limited to their behavior regarding punctuality, task management, facility equipment use, workspace cleanliness, purchasing procedures, and theft prevention. They are intended to ensure that all team members contribute to a safe, clean, and well-organized work environment while upholding organizational integrity and security.
Timely
Arriving on time to work and from breaks is critically essential. Contact your supervisor if you are running late or can not come to work. Corrective actions will be taken if you are tardy or absent without notice.
No Idle Hands
Stay focused and on task during work hours. If you need a task, show initiative and ask for direction from your supervisor. Ephesians 5:15-16. Be stationed in the Housekeeping office when you are not working in a residence/office space.
Facility
No persons other than trained Maintenance staff are permitted to use any Maintenance tools/equipment.
Clean-up
Please ensure that your maintenance office always stays clean and organized. All trash should be properly disposed of in trash cans. All tools and items should be stored neatly and in the appropriate places. Your supervisor must dispose of any items that are deemed broken beyond repair.
Tidiness goes beyond your office spaces; please clean up after any job. Debris should be dusted, swept, and cleaned, and trash should be collected and disposed of. If the mess is very large, such as leaking pipes that need to be mopped, please notify housekeeping immediately.
Purchase
Your supervisor must approve all projects and material purchases. Items must be purchased on the same day funds are released. All purchases require a receipt. Receipts and changes must be turned in on the same day of purchase.
Maintenance Culture
Facilities should be maintained properly and fixed immediately when any fault is noticed, rather than waiting until they are completely damaged before repairs are made. All maintenance staff are expected to adhere strictly to this maintenance culture.
Theft Prevention
Your office space should be closed, properly locked, and secured when not in use. Materials from our facility are to be taken home. Inventory, CCTV, and security checks are in place to prevent theft upon entry and exit.
