Purpose
To ensure an organized and respectful conclusion to a guest's stay, maintaining a positive relationship and leaving a lasting impression of hospitality and care. It allows for proper handover of accommodations, verification of items or resources used, and an opportunity for feedback to improve future guest experiences in the Ministry.
Scope
It includes all activities and procedures required to ensure a smooth and orderly exit. This may involve confirming the guest's departure time, conducting a final inspection of the accommodation for cleanliness and any missing or damaged items, collecting keys or access cards, and addressing any pending payments or documentation.
Definition
Guest: is a person who is invited to visit or stay temporarily in a place, such as a home, facility, or event, typically as a recipient of hospitality.
Departure: refers to the act of leaving a place or setting off on a journey. It signifies the conclusion of a stay or visit and the transition from one location to another.
Guest Departure
- Strip the beds: Replace all bedding with fresh and clean bedsheets.
- Inspect the Mattress: Look for any damage or stains and smooth out the mattress. Make the bed ensuring that once complete, all sheets, covers, and pillows are thoroughly checked for stains, tears, and any hairs.
- Check for Items: Be sure to look in wardrobes, nightstands, desks, and any drawers or cabinets, as well as under furniture for trash or forgotten items. Any found items must be turned into the Lost and Found.
- Dust: The room should be well dusted from the top of the highest piece of furniture to the bottom of every chair. Don't forget window sills and hanging artwork.
- Sanitize: Remember to sanitize Light switches, heater, AC remote, doorknobs, telephone.
- Bathroom: Special attention should be paid to the cleaning of the bathroom; all traces of the previous guest must be removed, especially any hair! Chrome is to be shined so no watermarks show, change the shower curtain if dirty.
- Stock: Make sure all stocked items are replaced.
- Attention to Detail: Pay special attention to details. Look around the room and make sure everything is orderly, tidy, and neat. Tuck in any tags from bedding, curtains, or towels. Close the shower curtains and the toilet seat lids. Make sure rugs are centered correctly and couch pillows are arranged. Ensure the environment smells clean and fresh.
