Procedure Name: Cleaning Residencies Procedure

Purpose
To maintain health and hygiene standards, reflect excellence and stewardship, create a welcoming and hospitable environment, foster spiritual discipline and order, ensure safety and well-being, encourage responsibility and unity among members, and preserve property value and longevity in the Ministry.
Scope
Includes routine and deep cleaning of living spaces, common areas, and shared facilities. It encompasses the cleaning and sanitization of floors, walls, windows, furniture, and fixtures, as well as the maintenance of hygiene in kitchens, bathrooms, and laundry areas.
Definition
Cleaning: is the process of removing dirt, dust, stains, impurities, and unwanted substances from surfaces, objects, or environments to maintain hygiene, appearance, and functionality.
Residence: is a place where a person or group of people live or dwell. It can refer to a house, apartment, or any dwelling unit used as a home or living quarters.
Cleaning Residencies
Unoccupied Houses
An unoccupied house is defined as a house that is completely vacant- no residence or visitors occupying the home (such as the Guest House when there are no visitors). The following list is in addition to the usual weekly cleaning expectations:
- Ensure both living room AC units are ON (all other AC units should be off).
- Ensure all bedroom and bathroom doors are open and any divider curtains are pulled back (this ensures proper airflow to the bedrooms and bathrooms).
- Before you leave, turn off all lights are and close all window curtains.
- Lock the front door.
Unoccupied Bedroom
An unoccupied bedroom is any bedroom that does not currently have someone living in that room. This could be an empty visitor room, or a resident's room who is away for longer than a two-month time period.
- Keep curtains closed
- AC unit off
- Bedroom door open
- After two months of un-occupancy, wash all bedding and remake the bed.

This procedure will be reviewed annually and is subject to change. Any changes will be communicated to all employees promptly.
