Purpose
To maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic environment that promotes productivity, health, and a welcoming atmosphere. It reflects the Ministry's commitment to excellence, ensures the well-being of staff and visitors, and preserves the functionality and longevity of office equipment and facilities.
Scope
Includes all activities necessary to maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and organization within office spaces. This encompasses dusting furniture, cleaning floors, sanitizing high-touch surfaces, emptying trash bins, maintaining communal areas like meeting rooms and kitchens, and ensuring restrooms are clean and stocked.
Definition
Communal: refers to something that is shared or used by a group of people rather than being owned or used by an individual
Building: is a structure with a roof, walls, and other components that is constructed to serve a specific purpose, such as providing shelter, workspace, or storage.
Cleaning: Communal Buildings
Weekly Deep clean
All weekly deep-clean sanitation tasks are in addition to the usual daily housekeeping expectations.
Kitchen/Break Room
- Clean toaster, coffee maker, and microwave.
- Sanitize faucet, sink, and cabinet handles.
- Sanitize all switches: light, electrical, and AC.
- Clean out the refrigerator and freezer-dispose of spoiled food and sanitize doors, drawers, and shelves.
Offices
- Sanitize switches: light, electric, & AC.
- Sweep and mop the floor
Monthly Deep Clean: Residence
All deep-clean sanitation tasks are in addition to the usual daily housekeeping expectations. This should be done the first week of every month.
- Wash all windows (window, metal bars, & window sill).
- Move and clean under couches, chairs, and other large pieces of furniture.
- Dust picture frames and decor.
- Tops of wardrobes, shelves, and book cases.
- Dust ceiling fans and light fixtures.
