Procedure - Daily Housekeeping Linen and Office Management

Purpose
The purpose of this procedure is to provide clear and detailed guidelines for completing daily linen tasks within the housekeeping department. This procedure ensures the efficient handling of laundry, including staff uniforms, resident washing, and visitor laundry needs, while maintaining a clean, organized, and well-functioning housekeeping office.

Scope
This procedure applies to all housekeeping staff responsible for the daily tasks related to laundry management, including inventory, cleaning, and linen care. It covers the procedures for opening and closing the housekeeping office, managing staff uniforms, and handling laundry for residents and visitors.

Housekeeping Office Opening Tasks
- Turn on lights and AC in the housekeeping offices.
- Take inventory of all laundry supplies.
- Ensure all chemicals, medications, and other items are properly stored.

Housekeeping Office Closing Tasks
- Tidy housekeeping office, sweep, and take out any trash.
- Clean out machines, and leave washing machines open when closing to air out.
- Turn off lights, AC, and lock the door before closing.

Staff Uniforms
- All approved staff uniforms should be collected daily.
- Uniforms are to be washed, dried, ironed/steamed, and returned.
- Other staff related linens may be required to wash such as washing rags.

Resident Washing
- Collect all laundry from the scheduled building.
- Wash, dry, iron/steam, and fold clothes.
- Deliver folded clothes back to the appropriate building.

Visitor Washing 
You may receive a call from a guest who has laundry needs. Because our visitors are here usually for a short time, it is the expectation that all visitor linens are washed, dried, ironed, and returned within 24 hours of their request.

This procedure will be reviewed annually and is subject to change. Any changes will be communicated to all employees promptly.
