Purpose
To ensure consistent cleanliness, orderliness, and maintenance of living spaces, fostering a healthy and comfortable environment for residents and visitors in the Ministry. These tasks help prevent the buildup of dirt, maintain hygiene, and promote a culture of responsibility and stewardship over the provided facilities.
Scope
Includes routine cleaning and upkeep of all common areas, private rooms, and shared facilities within the Ministry. This covers sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors; dusting surfaces and furniture; sanitizing bathrooms, kitchens, and dining areas; disposing of waste and recycling; and ensuring that laundry or linen is managed appropriately.
Definition
Daily: refers to something that occurs, is performed, or is repeated every day. It denotes a regular, routine action or event that happens consistently on a day-to-day basis.
Residential: relates to a place used as a dwelling or designed for people to live in. It pertains to areas, buildings, or properties intended for housing or living purposes, distinguishing them from commercial, industrial, or other types of spaces.
Building: is a structure with a roof and walls that is constructed for human occupancy or use.
Tasks: are specific activities or duties that need to be completed or accomplished within a given time frame.
Daily Residencial Building Tasks
Bedrooms
Clean Ceiling
- Clear any cobwebs
- Pay special attention to around AC units and curtains.
Walls
- Wipe down any dirty spots on the walls
- Pay special attention to fixtures (light switches, AC switches, and doorknobs).
Dust
- Gently move any personal items to dust top of dresser, tables, desks, or other open surfaces. Place personal items back where they were.
Make the Bed
Rugs
- Shake out rugs outside. Vacuum & clean any stains.
Trash
- Collect trash, clean trashcan, and replace trash bag.
Restock
- Ensure each room has one tissue box.
Floors
- Sweep, scrub & mop floors.
Living room/Office Space
Cleaning Ceiling
- Clear any cobwebs
- Pay special attention to around AC units and curtains.
Walls
- Wipe down any dirty spots on the walls
- Pay special attention to fixtures (light switches, AC switches, and doorknobs).
Dust
- Gently move any personal items to dust all open surfaces. Place personal items back where they were.
Clean
- Wipe off couch. Clean any stains. Check pillows and throw blankets and clean if necessary.
Clean mirror
Rugs
- Shake out rugs outside. Vacuum & clean any stains.
Trash
- Collect trash, clean trashcan, and replace trash bag.
Restock
- Ensure each room has one tissue box.
Floors
- Sweep, scrub & mop floors.
Dining
Clean Ceiling
- Clear any cobwebs
- Pay special attention to around AC units and curtains.
Walls
- Wipe down any dirty spots on the walls
- Pay special attention to fixtures such as light switches, AC switches, and doorknobs.
Dust surfaces
- Gently move any personal items to dust all open surfaces. Place personal items back where they were.
Clean
- Clean & sanitize dining room table. Check all chairs for stains/dirty spots- clean if necessary. Clean mirror.
Rugs
- Shake out rugs outside. Vacuum, clean any stains & deodorize.
Floors
Sweep, scrub & mop floors.
Kitchen
Clean Ceiling
- Clear any cobwebs
- Pay special attention to around AC units and curtains.
Walls
- Wipe down any dirty spots on the walls
- Pay special attention to fixtures such as light switches, AC switches, and doorknobs.
Clean Appliances
- Clean toaster, microwave, coffee maker, etc,
Sanitize
- Clean and sanitize counters, sink, faucets, and cabinets and cabinet handles.
- Reminder, you are only cleaning the OUTSIDE of the cabinets, not inside.
Restock
- Ensure kitchen has dish soap, hand soap, sponges, paper towels, and one roll of trash bags.
Trash
- Collect trash, clean trashcan, and replace trash bag.
Floors
- Sweep, scrub & mop floors.
Bathrooms
Clean Ceiling
- Clear any cobwebs
- Pay special attention to around AC units and curtains.
Walls
- Wipe down any dirty spots on the walls
- Pay special attention to fixtures such as light switches, AC switches, and doorknobs.
- Pay Special attention to the wall near the hand towel
Dust Surfaces
Gently move any personal items to dust all open surfaces. Place personal items back where they were.
Clean
- Clean bathroom mirror, ledge, and soap dispenser.
Sanitize
- sink (including faucet), toilet (top, bottom, sides), shower (top, bottom, sides, and shower shelves).
Restock
- Check soap, tissue, and toilet paper supply. Refill if necessary. Replace the hand towel with a clean one.
Rugs
- Shake out rugs outside. Vacuum & clean any stains.
Trash
- Collect trash, clean trashcan, and replace trash bag.
Floors
- Sweep, scrub & mop floors.
Front and Back Porches
Clean Ceiling
- Clear any cobwebs
- Pay special attention to around AC units and windows.
Walls
- Wipe down any dirty spots on the walls
- Pay special attention to fixtures such as light switches, AC Units, and doorknobs.
Rugs
- Shake out rugs outside. Clean if necessary.
Floors
- Sweep. Mop with soapy water if necessary (muddy from rainy season
