Section: Human Resource Policies
Policy Owner: Ignition633 Ministries Nigeria Human Resources
Policy Name: Driver Safety Policy
Origination Date: July 2024

Your safety in the workplace is a top priority. All safety rules must be strictly adhered to at all times. Inform your supervisor immediately if unsafe conditions, accidents, or injuries occur.

Purpose
To minimize the risk of accidents, ensure compliance with traffic laws, and protect our drivers and the public. Following these safety rules will create a safe driving environment and uphold our commitment to responsible and responsible vehicle operation.

Scope
This policy encompasses all aspects of vehicle operation, including commuting, transportation for ministry-related tasks, and travel to events. The policy provides clear guidelines on safe driving practices, vehicle maintenance, and emergency procedures to ensure that all driving activities are conducted with the utmost care and attention to safety.

Safety Practices
Restricted Areas
- No unapproved personnel should be in any vehicle: only the driver and the approved people for transport are allowed in the vehicles.

- Entry must be approved by the Ignition Directors and protocol Officer. No one is allowed to "hang out" in the vehicles.

Security Threats
Driving at night will be limited for your protection and the protection of others. An armed security officer will transport Americans at all times. Security officers will be up to date on any security threats and will update you on locations to avoid during your travel.

Training
Proper training and supervision are required before driving a Ministry vehicle. You will be taken through a driving course to practice safe driving.

Safe Driving
The primary goal of a driver is to ensure everyone gets to and from their destination safely. You are expected to come to work ready to operate a vehicle. This means you are well rested and have nothing in your system that would impact driving, including traces of alcohol, illegal drugs, or legal drugs that cause drowsiness.

Vehicle Maintenance
In order to drive safely, ensure your vehicle is up to date on all inspections and communicate any issues or faults with your supervisor.
