Policy Owner: Ignition633 Ministries Nigeria Human Resources
Policy Name: Resignation Policy
Origination Date: October 2024
Purpose
This policy aims to provide a structured and professional process for employees who voluntarily resign from their positions at Ignition633 Ministry. This policy ensures that the resignation process is handled fairly, allowing for a smooth transition of responsibilities while safeguarding the ministry's interests.
Scope
This policy applies to all employees of Ignition633 Ministries who wish to resign from their roles. It outlines the procedures they must follow, the notice period required, and the potential consequences of failing to comply with these requirements.
Policy Statement
Notice Period
Employees who wish to resign from their position at Ignition633 Ministries should inform their Department Supervisor at least two weeks in advance. This two-week notice period is essential for ensuring an orderly transition of responsibilities and that operations continue without significant disruption.
Documentation
During this two-week period, employees must complete the required resignation paperwork with the Human Resources (HR) Department. This ensures the resignation is officially recorded and allows HR to process necessary administrative tasks such as payroll adjustments and benefit settlements.
Consequences of Insufficient Notice
Employees who fail to provide the required two-week notice may forfeit certain benefits, including but not limited to:
- Severance pay, if applicable.
- Health benefits during the notice period.
- Eligibility for re-hire within the ministry.
Appropriate notice demonstrates respect for the ministry’s operations and ensures that the departure is handled professionally.
Employees who intend to resign from their positions must adhere to the following guidelines:
Submission of Resignation Letter
Employees must first submit a formal resignation letter to their Department Supervisor. The letter should say the intended last day of employment and any relevant reasons for the resignation, if applicable. This written notice is a mandatory step in formalizing the resignation process.
Return of Ministry Property
Employees must return all ministry property by their final day of employment. This includes any equipment, documents, or other items that belong to the ministry and were issued during employment. Failure to return ministry property may result in deductions from the employee's final paycheck or other legal actions to recover the items.
