Professional Language Policy

Purpose:
This policy establishes guidelines for language use within Ignition633 Ministries to ensure clarity, consistency, and professionalism in all communications.
But now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth. - Colossians 3:8 (ESV)

Scope:
This policy applies to all employees of Ignition633 Ministries, including those who communicate in written and verbal form, through official documents, digital content, and in-person interactions.

Language Standards and Professional Communication:
Our ministry prioritizes clear, respectful communication that reflects our values and mission. All employees must refrain from using profanity, offensive language, or inappropriate expressions in any form of communication. Communications should maintain a formal and respectful tone while using simple, clear language that effectively conveys information. All written communications must follow our established style guide for consistency in formatting and terminology.

Digital Communication and Cultural Sensitivity:
These professional standards extend to all electronic communications, including email, social media, and internal messaging. Employees should maintain appropriate formality in virtual meetings and exercise discretion with abbreviations or emojis in professional contexts. Our communication should demonstrate respect for diverse backgrounds and beliefs, using inclusive language that acknowledges cultural differences and avoids potentially offensive or culturally insensitive expressions.

- Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and use inclusive language

Accountability:
The ministry will regularly review communication practices and provide training opportunities for improving professional communication. Policy violations will be documented and addressed through progressive discipline measures. Employees should report any communication concerns through appropriate channels.
