Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to outline the responsibilities, expectations, and standards for upholsterers employed at Ignition 633 Nigeria. This ensures consistency in quality, adherence to safety guidelines, and alignment with the Ministry’s vision for excellent craftsmanship. 

Scope
This policy applies to all upholsterers working at Ignition 633 Nigeria. It defines their duties, work environment standards, and the professional behavior expected while performing their tasks both daily, weekly, and monthly.

Policy Statement
 Fabrication and Repairs
- Perform upholstery tasks, including cutting, sewing, and assembling materials for furniture.
- Repair and refurbish furniture by replacing fabric, padding, springs, or other components as needed. 

Design and Customization
- Work collaboratively with clients or design teams to understand specifications for customized projects.
- Provide recommendations on suitable fabrics, styles, and structural modifications.

Material Management
- Accurately measure and cut fabrics to minimize waste.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of materials to maintain their quality and durability. 

Safety and Compliance
- Adhere to all workplace safety regulations, including the proper use of tools and equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace to reduce hazards. 

Excellence
- Conduct inspections to ensure all completed projects meet Ministry standards for durability and beauty.
- Address ministry concerns or adjustments promptly and professionally. 

Equipment Maintenance
- Perform regular maintenance and minor repairs on tools and machinery used in upholstery tasks.
- Report significant equipment issues to the appropriate personnel for timely resolution. 

Daily Tasks
Cleaning and Organizing
- Clean upholstery tools and workspace to maintain hygiene and readiness for tasks.
- Ensure that materials like fabrics, adhesives, and foam are stored properly. 

Work Orders
- Review and prioritize daily work orders received from departments or ministriy's management.
- Communicate progress on tasks to supervisors or relevant stakeholders. 

Upholstery Repairs and Fabrication
- Handle small repair projects such as patching up damaged upholstery or replacing worn-out sections.
- Assemble or reassemble furniture for ministry spaces, ensuring functionality and aesthetics. 

Weekly Tasks
Major Repair Projects

- Allocate time for larger repair or refurbishment tasks, such as reupholstering entire chairs or sofas.
- Collaborate with the facilities team to schedule these projects to minimize disruption. 

Procurement
- Prepare a list of needed supplies and submit it to the supervisor for approval and permission to go ahead with purchases. 

Consultations (Internal Departments)
- Meet with department heads or ministry teams to discuss specific upholstery needs or projects.
- Provide advice on design or fabric selection based on the purpose and use of the furniture. 

Workspace Deep Cleaning
- Organize and clean the upholstery workshop, ensuring tools and materials are in optimal condition.
- Dispose of any unused or damaged materials in the trash and set the ablaze when needed. 

Reporting and Documentation
- Prepare weekly reports summarizing completed tasks, ongoing projects, and material usage.
- Submit reports to the ministry heads or supervisor for review.
