Purpose
To ensure responsible and professional use of social media platforms. It aims to protect the privacy and confidentiality of children and their families, maintain the reputation of the Ministry, and prevent the sharing of inappropriate or unauthorized content.
Scope
Includes guidelines for appropriate online conduct, restrictions on sharing information or images related to children, families, or the ministry without authorization, and maintaining professionalism on personal and professional accounts. It covers the use of social media during work hours, protection of the ministry’s reputation, adherence to privacy laws, and the handling of sensitive or confidential information.
Definition
Social: refers to anything related to interactions, relationships, or activities involving people or communities.
Media: refers to various channels or tools used to store, deliver, and communicate information or messages to an audience.
Policy is a set of rules, principles, or guidelines established by an organization, government, or institution to guide decisions, actions, and behavior in specific situations.
Social Media Policy
We Recognize the importance of social media in today's interconnected world. This policy is designed to guide staff, parents, and anyone associated with Ignition633 on the responsible use of social media platforms to ensure the protection and privacy of children, families, and staff members.
Professional Conduct
Staff members are expected to maintain a professional and respectful tone in all online communications, avoiding offensive language, discriminatory remarks, or any content that could harm the reputation of IGNITION633 Ministries.
Confidentiality
Staff members are prohibited from sharing any confidential information about children, families, or colleagues on social media platforms.
Privacy Settings
Staff members are encouraged to use the highest privacy settings on their personal social media accounts to protect their own privacy and the privacy of others.
Photography and Videography
Staff must obtain written consent from parents or guardians before posting any photos or videos of children on social media. Avoid capturing any other children in the background without explicit consent.
Separation of Personal and Professional Life
Staff members are encouraged to maintain a clear separation between their personal and professional online presence. Avoid accepting friend requests from parents or sharing personal information with families.
Violations and Consequences
Any violation of this social media policy may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination or removal from the daycare center community.
Review and Update
This policy will be reviewed periodically and updated as needed to reflect changes in technology, social media trends, or the needs of IGNITION633.

All staff members and parents associated withIGNITION633 are required to read, understand, and acknowledge this social media policy.
