Purpose
To ensure child safety, promote consistency in routines, define roles and responsibilities, support child development, and maintain legal compliance.
Scope
Includes setting safety standards, outlining procedures for daily routines, defining staff-to-child ratios, establishing health and hygiene practices, detailing disciplinary measures, and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Definition
Rules specific guidelines or instructions that outline expected behaviors and actions within a childcare setting. They provide clear directions for how children, staff, and parents should act to ensure safety, order, and consistency.
Regulations formal requirements set by governing bodies or authorities, such as local, state, or federal agencies, that a child care facility must follow.
Childcare Rules and Regulations
Infections
Do not allow children into the creche if they have cold or flu symptoms, conjunctivitis, diarrhea, vomiting, cold sores, rash, fever, or any other obvious illness. IN order to prevent cross infection, sick children are not able to attend the creche. school children who are not well enough to attend school are not able to visit the creche.
Supplies
All students who are infants or toddlers must provide the following items: 2 spare pampers, 1 pack wipes, socks, change of clothes.
- Parents of children must supply: one outfit change, 1 change of underpants.
- these items will be kept in a large ziplock bag labeled with the child’s name and only used if needed.
Signing in
All proper forms must be filled out before children can be admitted into the creche. This includes the Medical Contact form & Admission Form. Parents cannot put children in the creche without first speaking to the nanny for special instructions for the care of your child at the time of signing in.
Labels
Please ensure all items children bring into the creche are properly labeled (prams, lunch boxes, drinking water bottles, bags, etc.) If any items are not marked, please label with a piece of tape and marker.
Lost Property
At the end of the day, any items not belonging to the creche should be placed into the Lost Property box located in the HouseKeeping office.
Pick up
Children are only discharged to parents who have completed the registration form. All children must be signed in and out of the creche and the time recorded.

This policy will be reviewed annually and is subject to change. Any changes will be communicated to all employees promptly.
