Purpose
The purpose of this procedure is to provide guidelines for clearing a construction site safely and efficiently. This includes removing vegetation, debris, and obstacles to prepare the land for construction activities while ensuring safety and compliance with environmental regulations at the Ministry.

Scope
This procedure applies to all personnel involved in construction site preparation, including equipment operators, laborers, and supervisors. It covers the steps involved in clearing vegetation, removing debris, grading, and preparing the site for construction.

Hand Tools
Spade and Shovel
This is used for digging relatively loose or soft earth.

Chain Saw
A portable diesel or petrol-operated motorized chain saw is used in falling trees and for cutting the tree trunk into smaller lengths.

Cutlass
Cutlass is used for cutting grasses, trees, branches, and shrubs.

Hoe
Use the hoe to dig about the surface of the ground and remove shrubs or grasses

Axe
Used for chopping down smaller trees and cutting bigger branches.

Digger
Used for digging trenches, holes, and foundations,

Head Pan
Used for carrying sand and sand mixed with cement and other goods.

Wheelbarrow
Wheelbarrows are used to move sand, dirt, and other heavy materials. They can also be used for hauling crap and debris or rubble left at a construction site. Wheelbarrows are also good for mixing concrete.

Hammer
hammers are used for general carpentry, nailing surfaces and pulling, chiseling concrete, bending or shaping metal, etc.

Chisel
Chisels can break up materials, cut concrete, open holes, carve and finish pieces, etc.
