Policy Name: Hygiene Policy
Origination Date: August 2024

Maintaining proper hygiene is essential for drivers, especially during long trips where comfort and well-being can impact performance and safety. This policy outlines the hygiene practices that drivers should adhere to when embarking on long journeys:

Purpose:
The Driver's Hygiene Policy ensures that all drivers maintain a high standard of personal cleanliness and grooming while performing their duties. This policy is designed to promote a healthy and professional environment and enhance the comfort and safety of passengers and colleagues.

Scope:
This Policy applies to all drivers the organization employs, including full-time, part-time, and contract drivers. The policy covers personal cleanliness, grooming standards, and the cleanliness of the vehicle's interior. It applies to drivers during all working hours, including when they are on duty, interacting with passengers or clients, and performing any job-related tasks.

Fresh Clothing:
Drivers must start their journey wearing clean and fresh clothing. Proper attire helps maintain personal comfort and contributes to a positive professional image.

Body Spray and Deodorant:
Apply mild body spray or deodorant before starting the trip, and keep them handy for reapplication during breaks. This helps combat body odor and keeps the environment pleasant.

Oral Hygiene:
Brush your teeth and use mouthwash before the trip. Regular oral care minimizes bad breath and promotes overall well-being. Carry a travel-sized toothbrush and toothpaste for touch-ups during breaks.

Hand Sanitizer:
Carry alcohol-based hand sanitizer to maintain hand hygiene. Regularly sanitizing hands reduces the risk of spreading germs and infections.

Face Wipes:
Face wipes help drivers freshen up and remove excess oil or sweat. They can be especially beneficial during longer periods of driving.

Change of Clothes:
For trips spanning multiple days, please carry a change of clothes and necessary undergarments. Changing into fresh clothing during breaks can improve comfort and hygiene for your passengers.

Hydration:
Staying hydrated is crucial for overall well-being. You should always have water or non-sugar drinks to sip on during the trip.

Healthy Snacks:
Go for light, nutritious snacks to avoid excessive consumption of junk food, which can affect physical comfort and digestion during trips.

Temperature and Ventilation:
Maintain a comfortable temperature inside the vehicle, considering passengers' preferences. Ensure proper ventilation to prevent stuffiness and odors.

Passenger Comfort:
Provide a clean and comfortable seating area for passengers. Ensure that seatbelts, headrests, and armrests are clean and functional.

Restroom Breaks:
Plan regular restroom breaks to freshen up if the journey takes too long, use the facilities, and ensure personal hygiene.

Rest and Sleep:
Adequate rest and sleep are vital during long trips. Proper sleep hygiene helps drivers stay alert and focused.
