Purpose:
This procedure establishes a standardized closing process for Lydia's Closet operations to maintain cleanliness, organization, and readiness for the next business day. It ensures all essential areas including the front desk, lighting, housekeeping, and merchandise displays are properly managed before closing.
Scope:
This procedure applies to all closing shift employees responsible for end-of-day operations at Lydia's Closet. It covers the front desk area, store lighting and music systems, housekeeping duties, and merchandise display maintenance throughout the retail space.
Procedure Steps:

Front Desk Management:

Collect all hangers from the floor and place them in designated bins

Prepare and organize next day's sale date flyers

Clean and organize counters, removing all loose items including clothes, papers, and hangers

Systems Shutdown:

Turn off all store lighting

Switch off music system

Housekeeping Tasks:

Vacuum the main area and lobby as needed

Clean dressing rooms, removing clothes and trash, and wiping mirrors

Inspect bathrooms for cleanliness, restocking toilet paper and paper towels as needed

Merchandise Area Organization:

Remove any loose hangers from clothing racks

Refold tables of merchandise neatly where needed
