Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to define the roles and responsibilities for the control and management of tipper vehicles at the Ignition 633 construction site in Nigeria, ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency

Scope
This policy applies to all employees, contractors, and stakeholders involved in the operation and management of tipper vehicles within the Ministry.

Oversight and ComplianceManagement
: -Ensure all tipper operations comply with relevant laws and regulations.
Training: -Provide the necessary training for operators and staff regarding safe practices and equipment handling. Create and update training materials related to tipper operation and safety protocols.
Monitoring: -Regularly review operations and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
Record Keeping: -Ensure records of all maintenance and repairs conducted on tipper vehicles are maintained, also maintain records of trips.

Tipper Operators
Safe Operation
: -Operate tipper vehicles safely and according to established procedures.
Pre-Trip Inspections: -Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before use, reporting any issues immediately.
Documentation: -Maintain accurate logs of trips, loads, and any incidents during operation.
Regular Maintenance: -Ensure the tipper vehicles are regularly maintained and serviced according to manufacturer specifications.
Repairs: -Report any mechanical issues to supervisors promptly to minimize downtime and ensure safety.
Load Management: -Ensure loads are correctly secured and within weight limits before tipping.

Tipper Boy
Purchases:
 -Must check the quality of materials to be bought,purchase, gravels must be of great quality, sharp sands must be sharp, and plastering sands must be of good grades.
Vehicle Reversing: -Before the tipper truck reverses, you must come down to direct the tipper to where it should go, you must also check for better routes in situations involving bad roads.
Tipping: -Conducts proper assessment of land or the placesafety of uploadingloading and unloading before the tipper goes to uploadingunloading to avoid hanging.

 

5. Training Coordinator-

  • Develop Training Programs: Create and update training materials related to tipper operation and safety protocols.
  • Conduct Training Sessions: Facilitate training sessions for new operators and refresher courses for existing staff.
  • Evaluation: Assess the effectiveness of training programs and make improvements as necessary.

6. Load Supervisors

  • Site Safety: Oversee the safety of the loading and unloading areas to prevent accidents.
  • Communication: Maintain clear communication with tipper operators regarding site conditions and any potential hazards.
