Creche Rules & Regulations Policy

Purpose:
The purpose of this Rules and Regulations Policy is to establish clear guidelines for the safe, efficient, and effective operation of our creche. It aims to ensure a consistent approach to childcare practices, promote the well-being of children, and facilitate smooth communication between staff and parents/guardians.

Scope:
This policy applies to all staff members, parents/guardians, and children associated with the creche. It covers key operational areas including, but not limited to: infection control and health practices, management of supplies and equipment, sign-in and sign-out procedures, labeling of personal items, handling of lost property, and child pick-up protocols. The policy outlines specific procedures, responsibilities, and expectations for each of these areas to maintain a safe, organized, and nurturing environment for all children in our care.

Policy:

Infections:
Do not allow children into the creche if they have cold or flu symptoms, conjunctivitis, diarrhea, vomiting, cold sores, rash, fever, or any other obvious illness. In order to prevent cross infection, sick children are not able to attend the creche. school children who are not well enough to attend school are not able to visit the creche.

Supplies:
Ensure that parents of infants and toddlers provide the following items for each child: two spare diapers, one pack of wipes, socks, and a change of clothes. For older children, parents should supply one outfit change and one change of underpants. Store these items in a large Ziplock bag labeled with the child's name and use only when necessary.

Signing In
Before admitting any child to the creche, verify that all required documentation, including the Medical Contact form and Admission Form, has been properly completed and submitted. Do not allow parents to leave children in the creche without first engaging in a brief discussion about any special care instructions for that day. Always conduct a proper sign-in process, ensuring all necessary information is recorded and any daily updates are communicated.

Labels:
Please ensure all items children bring into the creche are properly labeled (lunch boxes, drinking water bottles, bags, etc.) If any items are not marked, please label with a piece of tape and marker.

Lost Property:
At the end of the day, any items not belonging to the creche should be placed into the Lost Property box located in the front of the creche.

Pick Up:
Children are only discharged to parents who have completed the registration form. All children must be signed in and out of the creche and the time recorded.
